<image:title>Home - Trust Your Intuition, Follow your Curiosity.</image:title>
<image:caption>What kind of musician do you want to be? As soon as you tell someone you are a musician, one of the inevitable questions will always be, “Are you any good?” When you are a kid that question is easy, someone just categorizes you as a Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced. When you are an adult that question is harder. Someone can be a killer player, but have zero interest in playing for anyone other than themselves. And there are singer songwriters who only know 5 chords who are paying their bills with the money they make streaming their music online. As an adult, it’s more important to identify what role music is going to take in your life. Is it going to be apart of your everyday life? (ie, Playing everyday, making music on the porch) Your Social life? (Playing in a amateur garage band, going to jams/sessions.) Your Professional Life? (You want music to be a part of your financial and professional life.) The skillsets you build for one, may not be the same you build for others. I believe that we all deserve to learn and enjoy music, and it’s my goal as a teacher to support you no matter what role music has in your life.</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - Be the person, you needed when you were younger</image:title>
<image:caption>When you first start teaching music lessons, you dip your feet into almost every genre, age group, and instrument you can to find the right fit for your studio. Slowly, but surely, you do end up finding “your” clientele. My case had an extra dose of serendipity in the sense I started teaching a lot of folks who related to me and my story. I can categorize these folks in two ways. The Begin-againers (Folks who were quite musical younger in life but struggled to find a place for music in adulthood) The Recovering Academics. (Folks who studied and may have actually graduated with a degree in music, but haven’t touched their instrument once since graduating and have a lot of trauma attached to their musicality.) These were both struggles I had as I was leaving school and finding my way as a professional musician. It has been one of my best joys of my professional career to help these students find a healthy relationship with music again.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Lessons - Music Lessons</image:title>
<image:caption>Weekly Private Lessons I am a big believer that all people deserve to have weekly and daily moments of music in their lives. Because of this, I strive to create a welcoming, informative, and mutually beneficial music studio. With a combination of one on one lesson times, access to dedicated online resources, and a sliding scale to fit a variety of schedules and budgets; I hope to create an environment where every can strive to be the musician they would like to be. Sliding Scale Pricing After your first lesson I move to a sliding scale depending on the amount of lessons you wish to take per month. This way you can easily take time off that you need without guilt, but also can feel like you are getting the best price for a weekly investment. One Lesson a Month: $70 USD Two Lessons a Month $60 USD Weekly Lessons $50 USD</image:caption>

<image:title>Lessons - Music Lessons - COMING SOON! Collaborative Learning Groups</image:title>
<image:caption>Unlike a Traditional Music Courses/Group Lessons, a Collaborative Learning Group does not have a set of preplanned curriculums, activities, and expectations that students are expected to participate in whether or not they are a best fit for that learning style. Collaborative Learning Group creates a learning environment where the students and instructor work together to establish the desired content, process of evaluation, and timeline of the course. In this model, the instructor (myself) is more of a facilitator of learning and mentor to help students develop their own models of self directed learning. In this inaugural class, students can expect to learn many skillsets in both the physical and mental aspects of playing the clawhammer banjo. They can expect to learn basic theory, a suite of familiar (everyday melodies) and banjo tunes, as well as a variety of practice habits. I cannot guarantee that you will be ready to go out on the road touring by the end of this course, but I can promise that you will have a weekly opportunity to learn about your instrument, meet a group of like minded people, and have a much more thorough understanding of the music you make, and how you would like it to fit into your life.</image:caption>
